Default 1 Great Fishing Tip to Share

What is one fishing tip that you would share with others?

Mine would be to share your fishing knowledge generously. Iíve found that I get greater enjoyment seeing others have success with knowledge I provide than seeing them struggle and quit in frustration without it.

He wasn't talking about fishing, but the advice is still sound.

Always have a set of pliers capable of cutting hooks out of your hand. Not speaking from personal experience or anything......

Along similar lines, I keep a tube of antibacterial ointment and several sizes of bandaids in a small ziploc baggie in my pfd, as I have managed to stab myself with hooks, knives, and angry fish on multiple occasions.

Relax----fishing is not all about how many you catch. It should be about how much enjoy the act of fishing !

I guess a related piece of advice would be "keep your tetanus shot up to date".

No, but you can watch Youtube videos of other people catching fish, which isn't the same, but can still be fun. Good for those rainy days, or whenever you can't get out for whatever reason.

In what part of the lake is the old rock dam located?

Stay positive even when fishing is poor. It only takes 1 cast to have the best trip of your life.

Also, (for bass fishing at least)
Embrace getting hung up. If you aren't getting hung up you aren't fishing the right stuff.

    Finally,
Work on improving your casting. Add different ways to cast and accuracy. Putting your bait where you want it to go definitely will improve your catch rate.

Edit: I realized that I completely ignored the 1-tip condition of the title but it is decent advice.

    Tight lines,
    Andrew
