    Default Carolina Beach Report

We fished over the nice windy weekend and did pretty well.
Friday and Saturday were the most productive, Sunday the salinity dropped and the bite slowed.

Sheepshead and Black drum are here, and should really start heating up soon.

We also had a nice gift dropped off by an osprey, poor guy could not carry the shad, which was the biggest I have seen. The bigger drum in the photo with the shad was 18 inches.

Nice! Looks like you found a few spots still hanging around too. What was the best bait for the sheepshead?

Teach a man to fish and he'll give away all your good spots.

There were not a ton of fiddler crabs around which are my preferred bait for the sheeps. That said, there were plenty of black soldier crabs, which seemed to work just fine.

The drum were caught on mud crabs and shrimp.

Pretty work! Pier, surf, nearshore wrecks, docks or backwater?
