    Default High rock

Looking to visit hock rock for the first time. If I’m coming from Kernersville is there a preferred boat ramp I should use for a 19’ bass boat? I heard there are some shallow areas

I live in Kville and fish high rock pretty frequently although I fish from a kayak. There are 5 boat ramps I am aware of. Southmont is the biggest and most popular as it is lake central giving access to all areas of the lake. Buddle creek is on the north end. Pebble beach/flat swamp gives access to the southeast end. Dutch second/tamarac marina provides access to the southern and western parts of the lake. There is also a ramp on the Yadkin river just west of the I-85 bridge, never been to that one. But I would say for a boat Southmont would be your best option. This ramp was built specifically for the bassmaster classics back in the 90’s. I am not aware of any boat ramp areas being too shallow as I have seen plenty of boats launch at all of them. Hope this helps.
