    Default Nuese River

I'm seriously considering putting in at Smithfield and floating down to the next ramp. Looks about 5-6 miles. Anyone floated recently? Are there any snags to be on the lookout for?

Which ramps are you referring to?

Take out at Richardsons Bridge. At least that's the plan.

When judging distance be sure and measure the river miles vs as the crow flies. Rivers bend and twist and add miles quickly.

I'd give myself 2 days to do that float. You would be going through some wild country there known as "mashes"

I've been a few times from Falls of the Neuse Rd to Buffaloe Rd which I've been told is 10 miles and it takes between 4 and 6 hours depending on how fast the water is moving. Not sure how the river is there...

Bcomp, do you know how to calculate river miles using Google Maps? It's very easy and very accurate.
