Donnaha Access - Yadkin River
So, we are closing on our first mortgage next month and I noticed we live fairly close to the Yadkin River now, with the nearest access being the Donnaha park just outside Tobaccoville. I’ve mainly seen posts about bass fishing, but I was curious if that stretch of water held any catfish? Any information about that park or what species are in that stretch of the river would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

There are catfish in the Yadkin. In this area you will also find largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass along with assorted sunfish and an occassional chain pickerel. Now the bad news is that the park will soon be closed to allow for the construction of a new bridge.

Thanks for the reply! That’s bad timing on that bridge construction. Do you know of the next closest access to this one?

Shoals Access and Old 421 are the closest upstream and downstream, respectively. Supposedly it'll be at least a year before the Donnaha access is open again with the construction.
