Headed to Goose Creek SP tomorrow for a few days camping. Taking my yak. Have caught trout, stripers, cats and flounder there this time of year before. Anyone had any luck thete recently? Thanks in advance.
Hope you are having a blast at Goose Creek Park. I am planning a trip there in a weeks myself. I've only been to the area once before and I fished the waterfront area. I am curious to fish the creeks.
Please let us know how it's going, what if anything is biting.
I might be taking my 'yak there tomorrow. What's biting this time of year, and what are they biting? Will the recent flooding on the Tar effect the bite?
Caught a flounder a couple of weeks ago on a 3/8 oz white jig head and a silvery plastic, among the crab traps at the east end by the mouth of Goose Creek just as you enter the Pamlico.
I think all the fresh water coming down the Tar effected things. Wednesday caught 7 cats up to five lbs Thursday and Friday 1 bass 2 spot a nd 1 croaker. Lots of fun on the water but not much catching.
