Hello all I am pretty new to North Carolina and heard that there is some good striper fishing in the Cape Fear river. I live in the Clayton area and was wondering where to go on the Cape Fear river to catch stripper in a kayak. If anybody is willing to give up some of their information it would be much appreciated.
I put in downtown Wilmington at the base of the memorial bridge (Dram tree park) launch ramp and head up river about a mile (past all the bridges) and fish all the drop offs and creeks in those areas. I have not gone up there this year-actually not since Florence as that storm killed thousands of drum and striper. I plan on going soon. I get some on topwater and some on soft plastics and some on deep diver hard baits. good luck
