    Default Shaky head

I tried my hand at shaky head fishing the last couple of weeks and I'm getting lots of bites. The problem is they are biting the tail off of my zoom u tails. They wouldn't touch the trick worm. I'm using junebug color. Are these small fish or finicky fish just picking at it?

I'm no expert on shaky head fishing, but it sounds like you may be setting the hook too quick. Have you tried counting to 3 after you feel the fish taking it before setting the hook?

Could be bream, perch or tiny bass giving it hell.

Could be both! I certainly am new at using plastic baits and setting the hook hard. Thanks

Any turtles where you're fishing? They constantly bite the tails off of my worms

You may want to try something smaller at those spots to see what is biting them. Maybe use a Ned Rig with a 3 Z-man TRD in a color of your choice. I get a lot of bites (and hook-ups) on those baits, but their plastic is proprietary and very resistant to tearing. Worth a try!

Sounds like bluegill are biting the tails off. Try a Zoom magnum Shaky Head.

Try some Z-Man baits that are much more durable. Also they float, which will make your shakey head stand up even taller

I'll have to try some of those. I really like this method. It's a lot of fun. Thanks for the input.

Why not rig a stinger hook at the very end of the worm? Seems like the obvious fix for short-strikes.
