Events conspired such as to have me home in Brunsco for a couple of days last week, so I decided to take the opportunity to sneak in some fishing. First time I've fished in Brunswick in about 21 years. I went up into the Green Swamp, up to where you're basically in the middle of nowhere, kinda between Supply and Exum. Not too far from the Columbus County line. Anyway, I found a couple of small ponds up in the Juniper Creek Gamelands area, and fished there for a while. Mosquitoes were out hot and heavy (I forgot that the seasons work a little differently down at the coast. It was still hot and muggy there), so I abandoned that pretty quick. Drove around to find a bridge that crosses Juniper Creek and fished in there for a while. Not so many mosquitoes there, and there was one other guy there fishing for catfish.

Anyway, all this effort netted me one small Warmouth. Nothing to write home about, but I'll take it, as the first fish I've caught in my home county in 20+ years.
