Default Hats Off for an American Hero

I don't know how many folks were aware of this, but Major Dick Winters, 101st Airborne, Easy Company passed away earlier this month. Winters was a key player in the D Day invasion, Bastogne and other campaigns through WWII. His story has been Chronicled in his own book, that of Stephen Ambrose and in the miniseries "Band of Brothers".

Winters was 92. His obituary was tucked away from the mainstream media, and it was only this week that I found it.

It is amazing how much you can learn after you have messed up enough stuff!

I loved the mini series " Band of Brothers " ! I watched it at least 3 times and could watch it again. It was as close to realistic as a movie could get.
Major Dick Winters was a true hero ! Men like him are the reason we have the freedoms we have in our country today.
Thank you Major Dick Winters, and thank you to all our military veterans.....
