Default Blounts Creek Yak Fishing Trip

Sunday 4/10/11 & 4/14/11 we hit the creek early & found a few rock fish that were hungry. Also caught a few white perch & bass. It was a beautiful day on the water.

The only time I've ever caught a white perach was several years ago, by accident. Was in Brices Creek at New Bern, fishing for whatever, with a medium size spinner bait. I got into a scholl of them, and caught about 5 before they quit biting. Would love to know more about white perch.

Really nice photo's, Nice to see young woman getting out there and doing their part of catching and having fun. Dog's look like they had a good time on the river, Congrates on the fish and once again very nice Photo's.

Thanks everyone, we call them our girls. They don't have a clue that they are D....'S ha ! ha ! The yorkie is Mandy & the Shih-Tzu is Lexie.Whenever you guys might see us on the water this summer they will probably be with us. We are very new to the yak type of fishing it is quite different . You do learn very quick to watch the tide & wind. Hope to see some of you on the water.
About the white perch , right now you can catch plenty of them in the rivers,Tar ,Roanoke,Neuse. Fish with shrimp or worms on the bottom.

Breeze, I thought you may have caught the white perch on the spinner bait shown on one of the pics. When I caught the ones I accidentally caught, it was on a Strike King Mini King. It is what I call a medium size spinner bait. You may want to try one of those on the perch in Blounts Creek. Thks for the info on the white perch. I have heard in the past that they are caught a little ways up the Trent, but I have never fished for them.
