Welcome aboard, Yak-N! Several of us who take day runs down to the Wilmington area use Exit 312 as spot to rendezvous the convoy... If you feel like trying pre-salted fish sometime, be sure to stay in touch!

Just found this so I figured I`d jump in. In 10 yrs I have gathered up 4 kayaks. (1) Dagger Bayou, camo, I have beat this thing royally and it comes back for more, 10ft (2)Same yak but bayou double ,14ft, a whale of a kayak, the juggernaut. (3)Liquid Logic saluda, 12ft, love it, high performance for it`s size. (4) Perception Acadia, 12ft, best traveler , glider of the bunch.
They all are good kayaks . I just take the one that fits the trip. Yeah I know, I WANT a SOT. Fate will provide. The wife told me after 3 if I got another I had to move out. After the fourth I think she realized it was pointless, and let me stay.
I`m mostly Mtn. Island. I live in Riverbend. We hit all the spots nearby. Wylie ,norman, ponds, some in the mtns. Only been in the salt once but loved it and plan to do it again this year. Hey, if it`s got water and a parking spot I`m game to fish it.

Like they always say, "You can't keep a good post down!"... Keep on piling on here to make yourself public. This thread makes for good reading...

For those who haven't examined the fine print in some of the prior posts, we've changed the way you get put on the map. Go to your User CP (link on the menu bar), get into Group Memberships and click your way into the NC Kayak Anglers group. That gets you the "NC Kayak Angler" title under your name on all of your posts. If you have added boat and home water information to your User CP profile, it will show up in your information pop-up box on the map.

Speaking of the map - its looking good. Gotta like the way Charlotte has come to play in the last few months. Congrats to you west coasters!

I'm in Wilmington, so home waters are from Ft Fisher to Topsail

    Cool site!
I'm still learing saltwater, so I'll have questions.

I do not fish one single location regularly besides a local pond. I would like to be able to take my boat to school and make University Lake and Cane Creek regular fishing holes but, I do not think my boat will store well in a dorm room!

I'd just like to announce that I've gone and got me a fully rigged Redfish and I may be seen fishing on a lake, pond, river, or stream near you.
