I'm ready, Gonna' try the ol' fly rod this year once they get going. We'll have to get a convoy going and get after em in the yaks...

I am really up for this year. Want to get into shad and strippers to his year. Haven't had any luck in past years maybe I need new places to fish or go with some one who knows what they are doing.

There is a private ramp right off river road correct? Is there anywhere where you can put a canoe directly into pitchkettle creek?

I am really looking forward to this time of year! I am planning on fishing for the shad and stripers in the Yak on the cape fear! I am thinking about fishing around the dam. Does anyone know of the best place to put in on the cape fear around lock 1?

Shouldn't be too long before we start getting reports from the Neuse River. I'll have to make a point of stopping by the hwy 70 ramp at Kinston to see when it gets started here. I still haven't caught my 1st shad on a fly yet.

I hope to make to one of the plastic armada floats. Tough call about what to use; I want to start fly fishing more again, but I have exactly the right stuff for UL spinning. I might take both and swap off.
