The 250 Fisherman is proof that Wellcraft’s world-class tradition is stronger than ever. The cab-forward design gives you more space in the rear cockpit and room for two to fish from the bow. The console features ergonomic-positioned instrumentation and room for the latest in electronics. And the Step Lift II V™ hull lends you that extra edge in performance. The only thing this boat doesn’t come with is the fish. But we don’t think you’ll have to worry about that for long.

    What Makes Wellcraft Different

Whether cruising with your family or heading out for deep water, your Wellcraft is equipped with the latest technology. There’s never been a stronger, more versatile boat than your Wellcraft sport fishing boat. These are just some of our latest innovations, imagined, engineered and built in Sarasota, Florida.

    1. Deeper V-Hull – This type of hull gives you a better ride with less horsepower and greater fuel economy.

    2. Microballoon-Filled Strakes – Every boat we build has microballoon-filled strakes running fore and aft. We like to think of each strake as an I-beam, meaning you can take on the toughest conditions with confidence.

    3. Fiberglass-Encapsulated Stringer System – Knitted and random-strand fiberglass make up the integral part of the hull. The stringers and floor cavities are filled with a high-density urethane foam which chemically bonds to the surface of the hull, stringer and floor. This process stiffens the hull, dampens vibration and ensures a longer-lasting final product.

    4. Plexus™ Adhesive – This unique adhesive bonds the stringer and alignment systems together. It’s stronger and more flexible at the same time.

    5. Electrical Bonding System – Links metallic underwater components to help minimize the effects of stray current electrolysis.

    6. Upgraded Electrical DC System – This system features Deutsch submersible rated plugs that are used for all deck and engine room components. This system performs underwater up to three feet while still maintaining the integrity of the seal. This new feature prevents corrosion and provides greater reliability for pumps, dash panels, etc. Deutsch terminations provide an airtight crimp that increases the resistance to corrosion. (Coming Fall 2003.)

    7. AC Systems – Premium tinned copper-strand wiring with individually jacketed and labeled runs provide for durability, corrosion resistance and easy troubleshooting. All 110-volt accessories are hardwired. Bussed neutral and grounding conductors and additional breaker locations on all AC panels allow for additional items to be installed. AC systems utilize zinc savers that extend the life of underwater hardware. New for 2004 – available in October – AC systems will utilize submersible rated connectors at all panels and accessories.

    8. Overlap Hull-To-Deck Joints – Produce a stronger, more durable seam. Chrome-plated stainless steel fasteners every four inches around the perimeter assure consistent, reliable fastening.

    9. Fiberglass-Lined Decks – Easier to maintain, which you’ve come to expect from Wellcraft.

    10. Continuous Welded Rail Systems – Single-piece construction increases the strength and reliability of the rail system. Intermediate rails add an extra measure of security.

    11. ISO Certification – Wellcraft was recently certified by the International Organization for Standards. This means that the quality of our boats has been shown, through extensive studies and documentation, to maintain the highest levels of excellence throughout our manufacturing process.

    12. Performance – Cannot be measured in terms of speed alone. Performance is ride, stability, handling and fuel economy. Our engineers maximize each critical element for balanced performance that is anything but one-dimensional.

    13. Certified Component Installations – Major OEM component installations are certified to meet operational design and performance standards.

    14. Experienced People – Our engineers and craftsmen design and create exquisite fishing boats with great care and attention to detail. Our employees have a deep sense of pride in their work.

    15. Transferable Limited Warranty – Wellcraft’s 10-year Protection Plan assures you added value when you choose to sell your boat.

    16. Wellcraft Dealers – Experienced and ready to help you find the perfect fishing boat, our dealers are dedicated to sales and service.

    17. Built to the Highest Standards – As part of the Genmar family of boats, every Wellcraft is built to Genmar’s standards of quality craftsmanship and innovation in both design and technology.

    Price Paid: 54000
    Recommended: yes
Cons: heavy so needs a good tow vehicle
Pros: Well layed out, fishin amentities galore, high gunnels for small fishers, large cabin inside the helm
I've owned my Wellcraft 250 Fisherman now for 3 seasons and 175 operating hours on her (She's currently my 5th boat).

No complaints whatsoever and she is what she is.. a multi purpose fishing boat with a touch of class that dresses out nice for just ICW cruising or pull the cushions and fluff off and run her in 6-7 ft seas.

There's nothing I do not like about this year/model Wellcraft. In the used market, she's a solid/dependable boat that will hold up if taken care of and in my opinion a very good buy.

    Highly recommend!
