Tru-Turn Hooks
\r\nA test by the U.S. Army resulted in their recommendation that Tru-Turn Hooks® be used in the Military Survival Fishing Kits. (Spec. # MIL-F-6218).
\r\n
\r\nTru-Turn Hooks® are designed to perform. The offset forces the point to turn towards the slightest touch to get the deepest possible hold.
\r\n
\r\nExtensive research by an independent group at Auburn University proved that Tru-Turn Hooks® were significantly superior (in Hookup ratios) over all hooks tested. In fact, Bass Masters Magazine found the research so thorough they published the results.
\r\nHow Tru-Turn\'s Cam Action Works
\r\n
\r\nThe offset forces the point to turn towards pressure. It\'s like stepping on a rake; it acts as a cam, forcing the handle to rise.

\r\nWhat\'s the Reason for
\r\nBlood Red Hooks?
\r\n
\r\nDuring extensive underwater testing, we found that every species in the test tank would strike dark red more than any other color combined. This dark red color simulates the Gill Flash of feeding fish. This is what stimulates the natural feeding response.\r\n

    Recommended: yes
Cons: Wish they made the larger sizes 7/0 and up in the blood red like the did in the past
Pros: low corrosion on the saltwater hooks, maintain sharpness, they\'re strong
These are really good hooks, especially for bottom fishing in saltwater.
\r\nThey\'re not what you\'d want to put on skirted or trolled lures, but for grouper, snapper, trigger fish, black sea bass, these hooks are excellent.
    \r\n
    \r\nMy favorite sizes are the 2/0, 7/0 and 8/0 Tru-turns.
    \r\n
\r\nThe 2/0 size for bailing peanut mahi\'s are excellent, these hooks catch\'em everytime and they simply dont come off.
    \r\n
\r\nOnly draw back is the hooks can deep set and can be difficult sometimes to remove.
\r\nI\'ve used them in both salt and freshwater, but I favor them for saltwater use for fishing around structure inshore/nearshore/offshore. They will help increase your hook-up rate.
