I am trying to find a source like a website or phone app that lists all of the Kayak Access Points here in North Carolina. Does anyone know if there is anything out there?
"Paddling Eastern North Carolina" is a must have book for anyone who river fishes. It's been the bible of launches for me. Very detailed. Every lake has easy to find launch points on the internet, but this book has the places that bass boats can't go.
Don't forget to enter the contests on paddling.net. Been doing it for a few years now, but haven't won anything. Even if I don't and someone on ncangler does it would be nice to know.
Same here, I have been entering points all over NC and SC.
The thing that I have to remember is the ease of put-in and take-out.
There are some access points on the Edisto, Dan, Pee Dee and Rocky River that are very challenging, and my pinpoints would only hurt people that are not prepared to do some lifting, climbing and hiking.
Folks that are doing just a day trip should stick to the ones that are easiest. There needs to be a rating system on these access points.
You are right.........no awards, but you can really help someone who is local to that area to get out and get paddling. I wish I had these resources when I was younger......I'd have been out on the water all the time.
