Default Big blue on Kerr 3-8-14

Did some blade baiting on Kerr this morning. Me bro and Bob got on the water about 8. We all slow drifted big bass minnows for a few hours with a few runs and lost fish. Then we started jigging and picking up fish. Caught 4 species and left at 2 today. Posting on the drive home. Joeys driving lol. Caught the big guy which was at least 35 to 40 lbs on a 7' med heavy rod with 20lb power pro tipped with. 15lb seaugar leader. Took probably 10 minutes to boat with repeated uncontrollable runs. Drag peeling. Awesome. Caught in 28 feet of water on a chartreuse 1/2 oz blade bait.

That fish appears to have a healthy appetite.

Lost a small one at the boat. I think they've already gone up river. Last year second week of February and they were out of the creeks. Figured it would be the same this year.

Thx Shawn. When you get back from DC we'll have to go hit gaston. I bet the stripers are up in the river. Get ready Willy!
