Default Today I lost my hero

As I was driving back to western New York today I received the news my dad had passed away. He will always be my hero. This man worked so hard all his life. We never got to fish together but he always loved hearing about the fish I caught. We would talk weekly and for hours about fishing, life, the Chicago cubs and whatever otherstuff came into our heads.

Cherish sh the time you have with your Dad

My condolences. I know my time with my parents grows short so I try to be apart of their lives as much as I can now.

Mt prayers are with you and your family. I lost my dad a little over 10 years ago at age 92. I still have my times, but mostly the good times I had with him. I am the last of my family. Lost a brother, and a sis, and my mom also.

sorry about your lose. Cherish the ones you love for sure. You never know when the day will come. I lost my grandfather 2 years ago today while we were fishing for striped bass on the pier in williamston. He was more of a father to me than anyone else.

We also loved to talk about fishing and sports all the time. I hope they have found peace with the man upstairs.

Sorry to hear that. A father is something you only get once. I lost mine when I was 15 YO in '97 when I needed him most.

My thoughts are with you.... Hang in there my friend

Sorry for your loss and my apologies for taking so long to reply. I have had a lot on my mind that made thinking of how to reply difficult.

My Dad had a close call earlier in the year 2 surgeries, 2 weeks in ICU, 2 months so far in re-hab, but today he came home for a couple of hours so that the re-hab staff could evaluate the handicapped friendlness of his home. A few minor things but he should be back home by the middle of next week.

I also have a great neighbor and dear friend, father of one of my best friends, and man that I have known all of my life, that has been fighting Leukemia. I have shared hunting camp with him many times. We have fished, farmed, hunted, tractor pulled together, he would pick the guitar around the campfire when supper was done, and always had a smile on his face.

I left his funeral today and went by to see Pop at home before they headed back to the re-hab. Highs and Lows, good times and bad, you only get to do it once. You said it well don't miss anytime with the people you care about.

prayers for you and your family
