    Default Pamlico creek report

My 16 year old daughter actually agreed to come fishing with me today. This never happens. She is a 16 year old girl, so of course the trip could not start before a decent hour. That was perfectly fine with me- been a long time since we fished together.

We got on the water at 11. She caught the first fish, a 15 inch rock. She also lost a much larger fish shortly after. I caught squat at that spot.

We moved around, and eventually found some trout. I caught our only keeper at 16 inches. There were 5 boats fishing a skinny stretch of water where I usually see none. The word must have been out. I saw five to six trout caught but only one other keeper.

Our final tally was 3 small rock, 1 keeper trout, 2 nice fish lost, and several missed bites. It was a fun- quick- trip (ahead of the rain).

Awesome to hear WVHeel! Having a daughter fish with her father is always a great trip, Getting a 16 year old daughter to join her Dad is a spectacular trip. Glad you caught a few fish too!

Wanted to add, trout were being caught waaaay back in the creek. That cold air this week finally moved 'em where they are supposed to be in January

Was the water moving where you found the trout?

Water not moving. This was the back of a slow moving creek feeding the western pamlico.

I meant a creek feeding the pamlico river. Sorry, my shorthand.
