Thanks for posting this Scott. I don't do the Facebook thing and would have missed being able to read this.

The first time I met Mike was at the meet & greet at the Dan River, we all split up and everyone went different ways due to the lack of water on the Dan! So Mike and I also Jeff & his wife and his dad all went to Danbury Park and paddled down to the little stream and a launch ramp I heard is now there! But Mike & I fished together about 10 to 15 yards apart. This was my very first time on the Southern Rivers. Being from the north and having rivers like the Dan River looked like a stream up north. Well being new I had trouble with handling the big rocks and small boulders and it finally took the toll on me just before the small shower and I flipped over. Well mike came along and grabbed the canoe and had me hang from the back of my canoe to a little island. Mike helped me out get the water out of the bottom and drain out the water from the boxes. Mike helped me out again at the also Jeff. But all the time we were driving to the pickup spot I got to talk to Mike. I have no family down here in NC, but Mike was like my younger brother. He was very easy going and a pleasant to talk with. I will miss him, like other have! So Mike I'll see you again and we will fish again in the rivers of gold in heaven, and if I don't see you there I'll be looking for you at the feet of Jesus. Rest in Peace Brother!
