That's completely different than my experience with RedX, I went to two meet and greets before becoming a member. Sucks that you had that experience, but everyone I've met is all about sharing their fishing knowledge and helping others experience the joy of fishing.

i was told a story about a past meet and greet that I think sums up RedX... They were planning a m&g and had a young kid join the thread talking about how much he would love to go, but didn't have a yak and someone offered up a yak for him to use. Then the tent was an issue, and a tent was offered for use at the M&G. Basically this young man managed to borrow everything needed to spend the weekend fishing and camping, then went and told his dad that they were going camping and fishing that weekend.

From what I was told, that kid and his father were involved with RedX for years (until he found girls). But from what I've seen and experienced, that story describes RedX a lot more than you're experience MB.

Sorry to hear of your experience and really dumbfounded that it happened. I have been a member since 2012 and have never seen or heard of anyone being told they could not attend a Red X meet if not a member. As Daze stated people attended our meets who are not a member and they are treated as if they were and are welcomed. We have a great group of people and would encourage you to not let this one person that you posted about put you off on a attending one of our meets or joining our group if you would like. I have read many of your post that you have offered info / help to people and have enjoyed reading and giving a like. Hope to meet you one day either at a meet or on the water.

No worries on my end as I have been kick-out of worse places!

Put me down for one of those Official Certificates. My Red X Flag needs some company on the wall.

Red X Club membership certificates. Islandman employs his prodigious calligraphy skills to hand scribe an "official" membership document that not only proves you are a member of the prestigious Red X Anglers club, it also doubles as legal tender in Liechtenstein.
