Got way up in the hills to do some wade fishing this holiday weekend with a former guide friend. 4 mile hike in, fished for 8 hours and a long hike back out. Fortunate to still have the health to reach these types of locations. Water was a tad high but clear and fast making for fish being scattered and some challenging footing as well. Nevertheless we took some nice chunky smallies and one 17 inch rainbow. Fish came on spinnerbaits and beetle spins. White seemed to be the color of choice. Hope to return this summer when fish are stacked in the holes during lower water conditions.
