Recently picked up another smaller spinning reel for finesse baits. I ended up with the Quantum Throttle size 20. It also comes in a slightly larger 30 model.

This is a $60 reel, and that was the price range I was shopping, under $80 or so. I have a Lew's Speed Spin that I like. It's not perfect, but also a decent budget reel.

The Throttle is very similar in appearances, to the Lew's. Very similar. But the Throttle feels lighter, and reels smoother. It is also the better casting of the two. The Throttle has an aluminum body, pretty sure the Lew's is "plastic".

The Throttle has a braid strip on the spool. I have it spooled with 8# braid now, and it works great. I've had Quantum products in the best and was not impressed, but never their high end gear. But the Throttle comes in on their lower end, but the quality is better here than previous Quantums I've used.

If you're looking for a spinning reel for less than $75, give the Throttle a look.
