Default Great Father's Day fishing at Lake Crabtree

My family knows I like to fish so I took them to Lake Crabtree with me on Father's Day. I knew it would be good for the wife since they have well maintained facilities and she's not going deep into the woods. It turned out to be a great day. My first fish was a nice bass and we caught our biggest catfish from Lake Crabtree so far. I forgot to weigh it but I estimate it was a 8-10 pounder. We also caught plenty of huge 2lb+ crappie which is the norm for Lake Crabtree. What an awesome Father's Day gift!

Man, those are some nice hauls. Plenty of 2lb+ crappie has gotten my attention and my ears perked. Happy Father's Day and great looking family.

What kinda bait/rigs were you running? I've been out there several times and the fish never seem interested in what I throw out there.

    Looks like a great time!

Chicken livers, live minnows and a 1/32 Arkie Bloodline jig head with a Creme Lil' Fishie on it. I've caught catfish, bass AND crappie on that Creme lure in Lake Crabtree. I've tried just about all my other lures out there but I always come back to those three when I want to have fun catching a bunch of fish.
