bulletproof. simple. biggest thing you will deal with is an occasional power pack replacement. They were early electronics engines and don't like to be jump started or cranked with a weak battery it pops the power pack. They are $80 or less. I have a 75 55 myself now. My other was a 79 but had been mistreated and abused by the previous owner not keeping it flushed and maintained so I have some corrosion issues internally like anyone who doesn't care for their stuff in salt. So I am keeping it for a parts engine since the lower unit, fuel pump, coils etc are the same.
