4-7-15 Fontana Had the pleasure of fishing with grands Dan and Julie and grandson Ray. Rain stopped just in time and for the first time in a while we didn't have to fight the wind or cold. Started out in Greasy Branch with just one walleye and a couple of small spots and finally moved up to the Tuck. Almost everywhere we stopped I marked large spots and walleye, but they just would not hit live bait or jigs. Put out the trolling gear and that was the ticket. Got into a nice rhythm on the whites with some real good sized fish, mostly on planer boards and a #5 Rapala in Helsinki shad. We fished two other Raps side by side with small variations in color and they only wanted that one color, makes you wonder how often you miss bites by stubbornly clinging to your favorite color bait. Big thanks to the BIG GUY for upcoming warm trend should make this lake pop! Later Capt. James

Glad to see a report. Headed up Friday for the weekend and was wondering if they were hitting. Crazy how one color is so powerful at times. Do you think it was a fact of fish just not starving and being picky?
