I normally use 1oz Gotcha plugs and besides from the occasional hooks hanging up, I've had no issue with them. Today I tried using a 7/8oz gotcha plug(wanted to try a different color that BPS only had in 7/8). Anyways, while trying to use it like I normally use the 1oz it didn't jerk side to side at all...but just shot forward and out of the water as if the hooks were hung up, especially if I tried to retrieve it fast. What seemed to work was steadily reeling it while lightly bouncing the rod(small jerking motion).

Did I get a bad one or is there another way to use them? I've seen some people say the 7/8oz swim better but I had no luck and ended up throwing a 1oz plug back on there.

Thanks, Kevin
