My boat needs a new fishfinder and Hank Parker says I need one of these. I've looked it over and it seems to be a really good graph. Price is the biggest drawback so far. Do any of you own this product? I'd like to know more about it from your everyday fisherman. I know Hank use to be a really big fan of Lowrance and then he switched to Garmin and now he is really pushing Humminbird. Given that he seems to be a little confused, I think it would be more appropriate to find out from someone that is truly sold on this product. I would surely appreciate all the help I can get.

Oh, yes I realize Hank is being paid to say what he says, but he seems to be a really nice person. I got his autograph back in 95 when the classic came to Greensboro and he gave my daughter a shirt.

I have been using the product for three years now, I bought it when it first came out, and was one of the first to get it from our Bass Pro Shop. Altough it took me a couple of trips to get the adujustments just right, when I did, it was a terrific piece of Kit. The Sonar shows me exactly what is on the bottom, and how it is positioned.

I fished mostly in Delaware out of Indian River Inlet, and out of Ocean City. At reef 11 in Delaware, there are numerous Red Bird Cars, from the New York City Subway system, and numerous Military Vehicles on the Reef. I can look at the Military Vehicles and tell you exactly what the vehicle is, because I can actually see it on the display. I can also tell you if the Red Birds are upright, upside down, or on their side. I can see the outlines of Boat hulls, rock piles, concrete pipe, or reef balls. I can also see schools of fish or Bait Balls, and after learning how to read the system, I can tell you which direction the fish is swimming in. This is especially fun, because I can stay on the schools if/while they are on the move.

When I got the system, I also got the Navionics Gold Chip. It has most of the Artificial Reefs outlines on it, and When I bought the Navionics Gold Chip, I got a certificate that with the program, and mailed it in to get the FREE Hot Spots fishing Chip. The chip has all of the reefs perimeters marked on it, and all I have to do is plug in the AR materials and coordinates that are dumped there.

A great system, the only drawback that I can see is that in oder for the standard Sonar to get the best picture you can only do about 6 Knots. However, if you have all of the coordinates, you can motor to within 50 to 100 yards of the wrecks, slow down, and switch from the GPS mode to the Sonar mode and You will see the bottom structure. If you use a down rigger, you can also see the weights/balls on the screen. I have gone across wakes of other boats and ships, and was able to physically see the Swirl in the water from the Boat/Ship propeller, which is actually caused by air.

A great system, and I am very pleased and happy that my wife bought it for me.

I've only had it on the water one time and I'm truly amazed at the detail you see under the boat. What you see is what is there. Still have a lot to learn but I think I'll be satisfied. I like going by other fishermen and seeing whether they were actually fishing around any structure or not. The one day I had it on the water I went by three boats that were fishing the shoreline to my right and the graph was marking alot of fish to my left along the creek channel.

House Foundation. Have caught several fish all around this structure.

Tree along the shoreline with lots of fish. The next tree along the shoreline didn't have any fish on it like this one did. Caught one fish off this tree.
