After checking the weather and convincing myself I could get some fishing in and rain and storms would not impacted me I headed over to falls lake for a little crappie action. I picked up some minnows and hit one of my favorite spots. I hook up a minnow on first rod toss it out and set it in rod holder to get the next rod ready for action. Get the minnow on and ready to toss out and bobber is under on the first line. A nice 1 pound male to start the action. from 7PM till about 745 it was wild I could never get all four rods in the water with constant action, hooks swallowed on a few that were just cut off, retying hooks, dealing with a major twist up etc.
Bite died from 745 till about 815 with an occasional one or two and just as a buddy texts me to see how its going all four bobbers are under lines are a pulling and rods are all bent. Was able to land all four the last two really had hooks swallowed. From 815 to about 830 bite was hot again and than I ran out of minnows. 3 dozen minnows yielded me 28 nice crappie and I got to the point of being selective on what I kept so about 10 smaller ones ended back in the water. Thought about trying a jig but the humidity was up and I was wore out from the action so headed on home.
Looks like I will be cleaning fish tomorrow before heading out for some bass action. I amy go out one more time I already have enough crappier for abut 30 total servings and after tonights catch probably will have enough to get me to the fall since I have limited freezer room.
