A three bass day

Originally I had intended on fishing this morning since figured rain was coming in the afternoon. However I really needed to help my wife wit a few chores around the house. Since my football team is out of playoff hunt decided to fish and just listen to the game via Siriusxm radio.

I started off with intentions of not spending a lot of time in the spots and since many of them are tight I can not really spend a lot of time in the specific area. I started off in the first spot and put on a red shad seance texas rigged. On the fifth cast about 10 feet out max feel that tiny bump. In winter I feel a bump like that I wait a good five seconds to see if anything else happens like slacking or tightening of the line. I saw the line started to move just so slightly at first and stayed patient. As the line started heading a little out back to the lack decided to give it a rip and fish on. A nice little 2# but a nice way to start the day. Worked another spot nearby and wasn't able to get another nibble.

Moved on to next spot and again worked a seance since that water is shallow and lots of snags for a crank. Felt a good tap nothing another tap and nothing and than finally saw the line start slacking up a tad. Pulled up on the slack a little saw the line moves little more and bam another fish on but a small barely one pounder.

Finally headed to one of my favorite spots started off with a senko and worked it a good 1/2 hour and something grabbed it but dropped it immediately. I tossed the seance a few more times in same area hoping for a come back no luck. Finally I switch the the red eyed shad 3/4 oz and on third cats SLAM it hits the red eye no more than 3 feet from shore. Fish takes off does a splash or two and is fighting back and forth along the bank and I am working like mad to keep the line from getting tangled up. Finally got it on board and a nice 4.01 on the nose # fish. Its the only one I took a picture of since it was over 4.

first multiple fish day in a while a nice sign that this nice weather has them moving a little more.

Nice.

What is a red shad seance? Google wanted to make it a senko and getting back into fishing the name is not familiar to me.

Senko. Sorry autocorrect seems to always do that And I usually catch it. Everyone has their favorite color plastics for senkos red shad and pumpkin are my two favorites followed by a junebug color. The red eyed shad crank was chartreuse

I understand. Thanks for the info. I am using a big bites 6" w/tail green pumpkin worm with a 3/16 nose weight on a Texas rig. I have the plum but have not used. What size senko are you using? I currently have a 5".
