Must have been a tough day with such light weights.

Tar/Pam gets real nasty when it heats up. Oxygen gets scarce too.

the weights out of that basin have not been overly impressive at any point this year, unlike the neuse, which has showed out, and the albemarle, which has produced as normal which is normally impressive. even ne cape fear has seen an uptick in weights. not to mention pretty much every lake being on fire most of the year. tar is the one river that i have not seen turned on this year, excepting perhaps 1 tx with a winner of 16#. water temps that i have seen around are not what i saw last year, seems the recent rains may have cooled it somewhat, along with air in the 80*s.

that said, you are right it does get really tough when it is hot. neuse as well. fwiw, it took almost identical weight to win new bern on the same day, even though it has taken over 15# every other tx this year. lack of flow in both rivers would be my guess for the #1 reason, as it seems they are slow enough lately that the wind can pretty much stop them.
