Says the Ugly Stik Pimp!
A few of those used to be mine.:)

I got 4 pairs of pliers in my boat, all less than $15. Got a Stanley set of needlenose and side cutters, and also a Taskforce (el cheapo Lowes brand) set of needlenose and side cutters. They have lived in the boat and been through about everything, a wipe down with WD40 every few months and they are all still functional

Bought an aluminum set from the Toy Store for $15 during their closing sale. I like 'em a lot and would pay $40 to replace the things. Keep them on my hip and can't even tell they're there. Money well spent!

I could drop mine overboard and wouldnt really think much of it, for $350 I might be jumping in after them or hiring a diver to retrieve them.
That's the way I feel about $200 sunglasses. I've pitched more than one pair of $20 shades and was very unhappy about it.

http://www.tackledirect.com/manley-2003-super-pliers.html - these used to be the standard and still are very good pliers. The price has changed very little in 20 - 30 years. Back then $30 was a day's fuel trolling for spanish. Had a buddy "drop" my Manleys overboard in the middle of Beaufort Inlet. When we got to back to dock we made an immediate trip to Freeman's and my bud left the place $30 lighter.
