Had a great time with DRouse fishing the long rod on Brice's Creek Saturday morning. Water was very, very low, due to recent winds and we started a bit slow, but it picked up.

We met these guys and many more of their best friends. Popping bugs worked fine, but the winner was a foam fly that Dennis ties. After about three in a row, I "borrowed" one and got in on the action.

Fortunately, unlike some of my mountain trout bum friends, Dennis did not implement "stream side pricing!"

Though detrimental to fishing, about mid day, the water "decided" to come back in the creek and we witnessed significant "backwards" current, reminding me of my ICW days when the tide was coming in. Unfortunately, I think the rapid tide confused the bream, and they went all tight lip on us, but a heckuva morning with Dennis.

It was very nice having you with me Jim. I was worried about not catching anything before we even left with the weather conditions we had yesterday, but the fish were more cooperative than I thought. Could have been better, but not arguing.
Had to have been a fast wind change to make the water in the creek move as fast as it did. I've seen this before, but never this fast and strong.
We have to do this again Jim.

I do seem to get lucky when I have fishing friends with me. Hope that lucks hold out in the future.
Jim and I didn't set the world on fire with our catches, but with the weather that was given us, I felt lucky we did as well as we did. Jim is a great fly caster. I have lots of things I can learn from him.
