Stevef and I made it out today despite the conditions. It was 24 degrees outside this morning when we left the house. Splashed the boat and broke ice getting into the creek. With 20-25 mph winds and gusts to 30 we put the power pole to work. The tally for the day was 16 reds and 2 black drum.

It was a tidal creek. Fish bit best at the last of the falling and start of the rising.

Shrimp was the choice bait. Same deal last week although last week did yield a nice trout and nice red on a DOA shrimp. I tried it today and the wind was too much to fish it right. Not even sure if it ever made it to the bottom due to the massive bow in my line.

My guess is fishing in general won't be good tomorrow due the very strong cold front that is coming in right now. Not sure I care to be on a kayak in 20 degree temps.
