Fishing in selma today for bass I saw a big ole head sticking out of the slime. One cast with a senko later this beast smashed my bait. Fought better then any fish I've ever hooked, salt or fresh, and snapped my line right when I got him to shore. Luckily I had time to kick him back on to the shore and weigh him and snap some pics. He was close to 8lbs and 29" long. Biggest of the year so far and my first blackfish on a softbait. They are tons of fun on bass gear but I was very thankful that it was on my lilypad/heavy cover rod and reel with the heavy braid on it otherwise I woulda been out a rod and reel and a fish. Not much else biting today besides one bullhead but this fish made it worth it.
