I had an idea for making a jig head weedless today so I'll put it here. Very cheap using some Tygon fuel line which I keep plenty of on hand.
I just bent the line in a tight pinch and made small slits on opposite sides. This is where the hook eye gets pushed through. Once I pushed it through I trimmed both the eye end and the hook end. It's easier to pinch the tube while it has enough length. I trimmed the hook end so it barely goes over the point of the hook.
I know this idea has some drawbacks.
Another jig has a piece of the same tubing fit over the shift. I've had trouble in the past with plastics sliding down the hook and this fixes it.
