I am headed there for the first week in October. Yes the closures and NPS frustrations have limited some of the access, but since I've been going for almost 20 years I cannot stop. The fishing is great and I love the area and the people.

Agree with Dave1908, I lived there for four years, worked at a tackle shop and currently hopeing to move back this Winter. I was living there when they closed the Beach's and it hurt bad, still does but what's left is still the best fishing on the east coast .... Dave, I love the Point and hope Its open, great fishing and entertainment but don't forget 38, 49 and 55. Those areas are very productive that time of year ...... Drive the Beach's on dead low, find a area with lots of structure where you can throw a good distance away from swimmers. Use fresh fleas, Fish bites or fresh shrimp on small circles ..... The fish will be there if weather and water conditions are right ... Good Luck ...

I am right there with you. There is still great fishing down there if you keep at it and move around. I am getting ready to head down for two weeks. :) I plan to drag the boat with me so I have more options. Last year I caught limits of trout and flounder up to 20".
