I'm taking the family down to Bay River this coming weekend to stay for a week, I was wondering are any of you fishing that area? I know to expect crowds of people due to trout opening back up on fathers day, but I was hoping to get some more info on what was being caught, and with what bait. I thank you for any advice you can give!

One thing I've always loved about Bay River is I've never seen "crowds" there. And being able to fish during the week is going to make it even better. Watch the water, see what baits are swimming and mimic them. Popping corks, jigs with soft baits like GULP shrimp, or curly tail jigs (I like green with sparkles) , mud minnows on C rigs, Mirrolures, all have their place.. Early AM a topwater like a She Dog, or Badonkadonk. Grab a minnow trap at Wallyworld and have free live bait all week. Flounder are starting up some too.
