I've been out a couple of times lately but haven't had any luck. I moved to the area in May and am struggling to figure out the trout. Has anyone had any luck lately?

Those are tough places during the low water and high temps of summer. The Rocky Broad in the HS section lacks wild fish to keep the action going after spring stocking is over. Not to mention, most of the water is posted these days.

You're best bet on the Green right now is fishing for smallmouth in the lower parts of the Hatchery Supported section.

Hang in for another two weeks and Delayed Harvest will be in on the Green October 1st.. Check the generation schedules before you go wading and load up on junk patterns (eggs, san juan worms, wooly buggers, etc) and you should be able to kick the skunk out.

The NC Wildlife Resources website will give you the stocking date for Green River DH.

I would stick with the Green. There are a few wild fish in that river.

The Rocky Broad generally gets lousy after Independence Day.

I'd like to see the Rocky Broad made delayed harvest.

If you can be at Fishtop access parking lot on 10-01 about 9-930, meet with and help the Pisgah TU guys stock the DH section of the Green. you can pick up some pointers and see where the fish go in....
