I'm heading down to Kure again in two weeks and I am hoping to have my kayak fixed by then. It's a cheap sit in we got literally in pieces for $20. We have it put back together, probably better then it was made from the factory and I want to try it out in the basin at the ramp at fort fisher. I figured it would be some calmer water and I can stay near the shore or wall and not have to worry about current. I don't trust the kayak yet so I don't want to try the Cape Fear side. Is there any chance of anything near the ramp this time of year? I don't care what it is I'd just love an excuse to take some rods with me. Thanks y'all.
Maybe 4 wheel drive down the beach and put in near one of the overwashes near buzzards bay, try one of the back creeks behind Bald Head, We've found them back there on normal years, been really cold though! Maybe it'll warm up good by then.
Unfortunately, we will be in my girlfriends CRV. It's all wheel drive which means all the way stuck if we try to take it on the sand. Oh well I reckon I will have to content myself to fishing the surf for fish that aren't there. Still better then not fishing! I saw a huge flock of birds diving in the water at the cape fear side of snows cut last week and cast a paddle tail at them with no luck. Any idea what kind of fish they might be going after?
Man its a good time of year to make points with young lady. Save up the points for when its worth being in the dog house. Check the seaworthiness and take her somewhere.
Remember they are always agreeable early in the game.
I turned 61 last week am I'm still the same way you are. But I've been married ummm 37 years i think haha. Plan on stckin it out.
You'll survive. Like Ice Cream Man Says "something like that"
That's good advice. Think of it like the bank, with penalties for negative balance but the interest is great. Tab is always the same, only more with fines.
Provision Co. is in Southport right across on the ferry. Best shrimp and crab cakes around...great view, right on the water, not fancy but really cool.
My guess is those might have been bait pushed up by stripers, but let a local call it.
