STOP AT THE BOJANGLES IN NEW BERN TO CATCH A LITTLE GRUB BEFORE FISHING, ALLS GOOD SO FAR, STOPPED NEXT DOOR AT THE SHELL STATION TO GET A LITTLE GO JUICE FOR THE FORD, AND ICE FOR THE DRINKS, SOMETHING TOLD ME TO CHECK THE MOTOR ,SO I HIT THE BUTTON ON THE TILT & TRIM AND DEAD BATTERY. WELL MY BUDDY WITH ME SAID A FEW CHOICE WORDS AND WE DECIDED TO GO ACROSS THE STREET TO ADVANCE AUTO AND GET JUMPPER CABLES. WELL AS WE KNOW THAT DID'NT HAPPEN, ENOUGH OF THAT ,IT DID NOT GET ANY BETTER AFTER BUYING CABLES THEY WE SO SORRY THEY DID'NT DO ANY GOOD, SO I CHANGE AROUND BATTERIES GOT THE ENGINE RUNNING ,PUT IN THE CREEK FISHED MOST OF THE DAY AND MY FRIEND CAUGHT THE ONLY 2 FISH CAUGHT SUNDAY, YOU KNOW I SHOULD HAVE GONE TO CHURCH AND MAYBE I WOULD NOT HAD SUCH A DAY. Chris---Look on the bright side--At least your boat didn't sink--Maybe next Sunday you should go to church and make a generous donation or at least thump the collection plate loudly as it is passed.:D

What was that trooper thinking… here’s a fellow towing a boat headed east on 70 at this late morning hour… wonder why he’s in such a hurry? I suspect had he been a fisherman, knowing the season and that the early bite is often the best, sometimes the “only” bite of the day, he mighta given you an escort to the boat ramp. Well, now we share something else in common – I got a warning ticket from a trooper many years ago just east of Morehead City. Don’t think there is many of “us” what only got a warning from a state trooper. Don’t know about you but that warning ticket was such a relief that I have managed to drive the state for over 20 years since without a ticket.- knock on my cutting board.

I fished the creek Saturday without luck. Water temp had plummeted to 62 degrees with the cold nights. Didn’t even get a bite and saw no surface movement the whole day, ‘cept for a few gars rolling the surface out in the channel. Still marked a lot of baitfish near the mouth but the cool water must have moved much of it out and the remaining stayed well under the surface. Later that evening, I drove back to the boat docks and as the sun was setting, a few fish chased up some bait in and around the dock and boat slips. Met a fellow said he caught a 20” striper just in front of the boat dock on Friday and one of the sailboat owners said some nice flounder were caught (where I was fishing) on Friday as well – before the storm and cold temps moved in. A Marine on the dock said he had been doing well this season from the docks, fishing cut bait and artificials, but not much luck this day.

yep tc know about them days (fortunately most of the time they have when we were using my buddy joes back office's boat lol lol), get to water and find water pump gone, go back again starter gone, go out another time, his troll batteries are shot.
flipping boats (a little plastic boat), losing gear, hooks in hands, legs, equipment not working right.
all the bad stuff just makes u remember the good days more.
also on ur expired tags ticket (ur retired friend prob told u this but) get ur tags up to date bring the proof of it and go see the d/a in that area, they should kick that charge out, u might have to still pay cost of court not sure.
any way may be things will go better next time
better luck to u
