Fished bath creek this morning but couldn't get out there until 930. A buddy of mine did well with rock at another creek recently so that was what I was after.
At my first stop I snagged what I thought was a stick on my fifth cast or so. Dead weight until it got 3/4 to the boat, then it started pulling back! Ok, I've got a flounder, I thought. When I got her close to the boat the fish made a big run and got up on top of the water- a nice trout! I was so surprised I let the fish gain some slack- two head shakes later and she was gone. #&@% !!
After that debacle i managed a spike trout, a very small rock and a 19" rock. It wasn't a bad result for two hours of fishing in the middle of the morning. I was glad to see those trout- maybe this fall won't be a total bust.
