I hadn't caught a decent bass in a lake since February when I fished a small tournament in Georgia. Haven't got around to fishing much since then but finally got on the water at W Kerr Scott Reservoir a few weeks ago and caught this bass deep cranking around brush. Just shy of 5 pounds (4 pounds 14 ounces). He had a pretty good fight in him too. Thought I had hooked a decent 2 or 3 pound fish but when I got him up closer to the boat where I could see that he was a nice fish, he decided to run my drag and go back down to deeper water out of sight. Finally got him back up and netted. Caught a few other small fish as well on other lures.

A 5 lb. LM is a good fish for anyone. Congrats and get out more often. That is the secret to catching more decent fish.
