Hey all -

Was just curious. I often catch Black Sea Bass and small Grouper (sometimes big ones!) in the Tampa Bay area (especially in the winter), which has a lot of similarity to the Pamlico sound (in terms of size, depth). I know there are BSB and Grouper offshore around NC, but do they ever show up in the Pamlico Sound?

I don't think Tampa ever has to deal with 40's degree water either..LOL..

Lol, yeah, that is true. Cold weather down there is what they look for. Check out the Florida sportsman episode on YouTube where they are fishing docks for grouper. Pretty cool. Had a friend catch a 22 lber and a 10 lber under the same dock in 8 ft of water. That dock was like a grocery store for us. If you used enough tackle, you were pretty much guaranteed a grouper dinner!

Ah well, I will content myself with redfish trout flounder and striper. Think I will survive!
