Had the day off so we decided to try our luck at the Bogue Pier after the productive weekend they had there. Fished from about noon to 1700. Whiting and croaker were steady catching. Tossed some cut bait out and got cut off by a decent shark. Came back that night and the spot started biting. Threw some out as bait and hooked up on another big fish that cut me off. Wouldn't be surprised if it was another shark as we saw multiple spinners jumping less than 100 feet from the pier. Fun day of fishing even though we didn't get to take anything home. Also, we saw two small fish from the albacore family with blue backs swimming around for a while and I couldn't get them to hit on anything! Any suggestions for next time? Thanks.
