My son Bryan and his buddy Ryan took off for the sandhole this afternoon to do some anyting fishing. This is the few fish that they caught. Ryan caught this 6 pounder and Bryan caught 2 nice crappie.

What no bowfins? I guess you can't always catch 'em... Have to be happy with a little "anything" once in a while.

Those are probably pretty nice crappies, but when you stack them next to a big bass, they get kind of dinky looking.

Good work by the boys! Looks like they caught supper...

Jeff, they let the bowfins rest, but I will try and stir them up tomorrow if it will warm up some.

I'm with ya Pierman - I did the same thing last year - put the lights near the top of my guide-ons. Works great! Good luck on your trip tomorrow.

I have tried to keep these boys in the hunting and fishing arenas the best I know how, put em on fish. They don't always have to be big just fish. Now days they apply the tricks of the trade that I taught them.

Nothing like going out and getting some fresh meat for supper.

I started fishing when i was around 5 with my grandfather, he lived with us until he died in 86. I was 9 when he passed away, I have been fishing ever since. All you have to do if plant that little seed in them and it will be with them for the rest of their lives.
