My dad's been talking about wanting to go to buckhorn for the last few weeks, but with all the rain we've had, it's got me second guessing making that trip. Can anybody give a report on the water conditions? We still might go, but I've never had the best luck with bass when the lake is high and muddy, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's a known fact that some of your biggest fish can come in muddy water with the right bait... Like a big spinner bait as canoecat54 mentions.

I had the kids on it last saturday. Water temp was 63. Crappie are running late this year. Small males were on the rock banks but the ladies were still deep. Catfish were hungry and we did good on channels with some jug's and shrimp. Didn't do a lot of bass fishing but we did catch a couple. I'm more of a soft plastics guy and when Buckhorn is high and muddy I go with dark purple and blue a lot, mixed with some black.
