I am new to the site and I found the buckhorn reservoir as being a nearby place to fish. Any suggestions on how or where to catch crappie or bass in this reservoir? It is located in Wilson nc off of NC42 on Buckhorn road. Has a nice boat dock.

Are you talking about the Buckhorn Dam area in Corinth to the south west a bit from Shearon Harris??

There's Buckhorn Dam off Buckhorn road at the end of the gamelands there. It's off NC 42 and on the Cape Fear River just north of Lee County. It's not a reseviour (or however ya spell that dang word!!).

other than that, that's the only Buckhorn thing-a-ma-bob I know of.. ???

Hello All,
There is a BUCKHORN RESERVOIR in Wilson, NC. Contentnea Creek that moves on east through Snow Hill area. It is funny that someone wants to know cause I was just talking with a man on Saturday that told me that they had stock a large number of bass in it years ago, then later took some of the fat females out to another site to spawn, and then returned them last year to the reservoir. This spring and summer should be lots of fun. Those bass should be just about right. I think it cost some nominal fee and that allows you to fish all day.

I haven't fished Buckhorn since they installed the boat ramp in about 4-5 years. Used to put in at the end of the dirt road and head towards the old flooded roads and also the cattails. It's nopt very big so it'll be easy to fish in a day. Fishing was very good back then and I had heard it has improved even still. I know some people who still fish there and will call and ask for some info.....if they will even talk to me...They're NC State fans!!!!!!
