[SIZE=+0]Any news on what's happening with trout at Cape Lookout jetty recently? Weather permitting our crowd will be camping in the dunes on MLK weekend, casting from the surf. Weather has blown us out the last couple years, but have done well in years past on that weekend. Looking for some encouragement to justify the insanity.

No trout, a few small Sheeps, black drum and an occasional red last weekend.

It's going to be slow overall, expect it to be, but you can catch a few fish if you work at it

A buddy of mine tried to get me out there last week, stupid work got in the way. He didn't do as good as the last 10 trips, but did catch 3 black drum in the 15lb range. And a few keeper, but small, gray trout. No reds or specs though.....

Always a bunch of Black Drum and Small Sheepshead out there this time of year with some Tau Togs handing around too. As far as the Red Drum go it's hit or miss but if you happen to be there on the right day you can catch a ton of them.
