Okay so I put in at the boat ramp on 42 next to the bridge on the high side of the buck horn dam anyone know some good spots for catfish near there. Bait, when to go, what rig any info will help trying to land a big one for my son to reel in

Boat or bank would be the question. Bank right there near the bridge. Should be a lot of rubble around the bridge that will hold cats. Catch some bluegills for bait, live for big flatheads or cutup. Carolina rig with a 2 or 3 ounce flat weight, 5/0 to 8/0 circle hook and wait for the bite. Do not grab the pole till it is bucking and fish is on.

Boat, just pick one of a thousand corners on the river. Down rive near the dam or up river to the right fork to put you near the dam below Jordan Lake.

Whether anyone has or not go for it. I fish the neuse all the time from my yak. You don't have to go far. Just find a little slower water near structure and wait.
